There are untapped opportunities in every organization’s culture, products / services, and processes that can contribute to the ability of your enterprise (as well as humanity) to thrive in perpetuity. During the Assess phase, CircadiaOne guides enterprises to identify opportunities to improve environmental, financial and social performance and assess conditions for organizational change, so that efforts are tailored to the actual strengths and challenges your organization might face.
Intended Results
- Create a clear picture of organizational environmental and social performance, with an eye towards creating metrics for measuring performance over time.
- Define a finely-grained understanding of your organization’s culture and capacity for change to implement your sustainability strategy, so that initiatives are able to last in the long term
Our Approach
1) Identify Opportunities: We will gather information to determine your baseline financial, social and environmental performance and assess opportunities for improvement. This includes interviews, onsite observation, data collection, comparison with industry benchmarks, and analysis. Areas for auditing and assessment include:
- Resource efficiency audits: Assessments of operations to identify cost saving and waste reduction opportunities for energy, water, material waste and pollution, thereby reducing the environmental footprint
- Supply chain analysis: Reviewing the supply chain for streamlining opportunities and packaging and product improvements. Also identifying opportunities for engaging the supply chain to “co-innovate” significant improvements
- Carbon footprint assessment and reduction: Determining the sources and quantities of greenhouse gas emissions, and identifying the most appropriate strategies to reduce both costs and emissions, as well as advising clients on associations and programs to join for recognition and other benefits
- Social footprint assessment: Understanding how a company is viewed internally and externally on issues like community perception, engagement and relationships, diversity, philanthropy is an important consideration for assessing a company’s strengths and challenges for sustainability.
2) Assess Organizational Capacity for Change: This step determines how you might create conditions that will enhance your capacity for change through assessing the strength of the already existing conditions for change.
- This includes an analysis of reward and recognition systems, compensation structure, organizational and reporting structure, an analysis of whether team and department goals are in alignment with organizational goals, transparency of core business elements, and assessment of entrepreneurship, innovation, and organizational learning.
- This could involve peer interviews and formal interviews, focus groups, surveys, or other tools intended to create understanding and to design a change management element in conjunction with a strategy session.
